The International Elementary School received the approval from the Ministry of Education and Science in 1998. The same year the school started an educative and pedagogic process under the sponsorship of Bosna Sema Educational institutions.
Our goal is to help the children grow into positive, stable, educated and successful people. Our children come from different backgrounds. There are students not only from Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also from about thirty other countries as well. The conversations between children help them enhance not just their communication skills but also helps them understand various other cultures around them.
All of us have the right to a good and meaningful life as human beings. Our children hold the key to a world that is better and beautiful. If we provide them with the right tools for growth, we can be assured that they will build a better future for themselves and for the people of the world. The school recruits trained and professional teachers. The teachers at the school love and respect their students. The realization of the plan and program in the Elementary (Primary) school is performed in both, English and Bosnian languages. In the Middle (Secondary) school Natural Science subjects are taught in English, while Social Science subjects are taught in both, English and Bosnian languages.
In the interactive communication that is typical for modern pedagogic and educational movements in the world, the students, with the help and the encouragement of their teachers, are getting familiar, first of all, with the things that are primary in their own spheres of interests.
The Preschool Department gives children the possibility to get ready socially, emotionally and academically for the "real" school. The children spend time with the teachers, who are not family members, but at the same time try their best to give the children nurturing environments filled with love, help and protection. Learning is an integral part of the system and this is done through the usage of the English language.
The school has a restaurant (cafeteria) which provides healthy nutritious and wholesome meals. Two meals are offered to full time students and they are carefully chosen based on the child's age and its culinary habits.
After-school activities are a very important part of education here at the International Elementary School. There are several after school activities to choose from based on the ability and the desire that a student has. During leisure, through these activities, under the teacher's supervision, the children are able to develop their intellectual, social and other strengths.
